If you’re on a Quest for Heroes (and monsters) for your 80s inspired Dungeon Crawler, look no further!
If you’re a regular Tactical Suicide reader, you might already know that my passion for the miniature hobby started with Hero Quest. I still keep my copy with the expansions. It’s very dear to my heart.
Some time ago I discovered Boris Woloszyn on Facebook. He’s an incredibly talented sculptor that was recreating the Hero Quest box art in miniature form! And I’ve been following him ever since.
Anyway, Zealot Miniatures have a Kickstarter ending soon where Boris is reimagining those classic miniatures and they’re amazing!
Another all time favorite from my childhood is Jim Henson’s Labyrinth, and there’s some of that aesthetic in Boris’ work too. You can specially see it on his designs for the Ogres. Yes! The Kickstarter is not only doing the core game minis, it also has the expansions!
Some of my top picks from the KS are the greenskins (Fimirs forever!) and that mummy. Amazing! I’d love to have a unit of mummies like that for KoW.
